FC Bayern appears to be on the verge of its next transfer. Sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed a breakthrough in negotiations following the friendly match against Wehen Wiesbaden.

As FC Bayern continues to shape its roster for the new season, the next new signing is taking shape. Following Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is now also set to make a permanent move to Säbener Straße.

The 18-year-old was already on loan to FC Bayern from the Gambian soccer academy Gambinos Stars Africa during the second half of last season and made a strong impression. Now, a permanent signing appears to be imminent.

Freund: Only the final details remain to be worked out

Following the 1-2 loss in the friendly against SV Wehen Wiesbaden, sporting director Christoph Freund provided a positive update on the negotiations: “The final details still need to be worked out, but I expect him to start the season with us. Bara will take the fitness tests next Monday and then join us at the training camp at Tegernsee,” he said.

This suggests the transfer is nearing completion. Most recently, talks between the parties involved had been dragging on. Among other things, this was due to negotiations over the transfer fee.

Ndiaye’s market value has risen significantly in recent months. The Senegalese player not only impressed in training under Vincent Kompany but has also, surprisingly, already made four Bundesliga appearances for the record champions. In addition, he made the cut for his home country Senegal’s World Cup squad, which further boosted his standing on the transfer market.

Kompany is considered internally to be a strong advocate for signing the talented midfielder on a permanent basis and is said to have lobbied early on to keep Ndiaye in Munich long-term. According to Freund’s statements, there are now strong indications that the 18-year-old will officially be part of the Bayern squad as early as the training camp at Tegernsee and will thus start the 2026–27 season as another new signing.
