Neymar and Barreal stood out as Santos were held at home by Mirassol, the hosts again ruing wasteful finishing.
According to Globo.com, Santos piled up chances, with Neymar pulling the strings and creating first-half openings that Gustavo Henrique and Barreal failed to convert, with Gustavo Henrique denied by the goalkeeper.
After the break Neymar slid Barreal in for a tidy finish, and the forward remained a constant outlet. Neymar also drew the foul that resulted in Wallisson’s dismissal.
Mirassol’s goal came from a long-range strike, with Willian Arão unable to block and Gabriel Brazão beaten, and an attacking error by Escobar had sparked the move.
Luan Peres impressed after winning back his starting spot, and João Schmidt shielded well but is suspended for the derby against Corinthians after a booking. Igor Vinícius struggled in build-up and delivery on the right.
Cuca’s side were organised but the substitutions brought little, with Rollheiser unable to add the hoped-for final pass. Gabriel drifted deep without dovetailing with Neymar, while Davizinho, Thaciano and Gabriel Bontempo offered energy from the bench.
