Neymar is set to return for Santos against Macará at Vila Belmiro on Thursday at 19:00 Brasília time, the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16. He missed the league defeat by Athletico through suspension after a third yellow card.

According to Globo.com, the possible Santos XI is Gabriel Brazão in goal, Gabriel Menino, Adonis Frías (Willian Arão), João Ananias and Escobar in defence, João Schmidt, Christian Oliva, Gabriel Bontempo and Barreal in midfield, Neymar and Gabigol in attack.

On Wednesday, coach Cuca completed preparations with a tactical session and trialled the side once. Lucas Veríssimo, sidelined by a left calf issue, and right-back Igor Vinicius, recovering from a back problem, remain out.

The squad also undertook physical work at CT Rei Pelé.

The place in the quarter-finals will be decided on the 20th in Ecuador. Between those games, Santos aim to climb out of the Brasileirão relegation zone, visiting Vasco at São Januário on Sunday at 16:00 Brasília time.
