Neymar was withdrawn at half-time after feeling pain in his right thigh during Santos’ Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg against Palmeiras at Vila Belmiro on Wednesday. Rony replaced him at the interval.

According to Globo.com, the forward felt the problem late in the first half. After receiving the ball he attempted a shot from outside the area with his left foot, then at 43 minutes signalled to the bench.

He walked on the pitch, removed the headband he was wearing and carried out a few tests. On several occasions he held his right thigh.

Neymar is therefore a doubt to face Internacional in the 26th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro on Sunday at 16:00 Brasília time at Arena Beira-Rio.

For Santos, that match is regarded as a final, a direct meeting between sides trying to avoid the relegation zone.

This season Neymar has made 25 appearances for Santos, with eight goals and eight assists. His contract runs to the end of the campaign.
