In speaking with Brazilian outlet Globo, PSG attacker Neymar has explained that he;s aiming to play the upcoming World Cup Qatar like it is his last. The Brazil forward turned 30 in February and will be well into his mid-thirties by the time the 2026 World Cup arrives. The player explained:
“I will play as if it were the last World Cup. I’ve been talking to my dad, we talk often, and I’m going to play every game like it’s my last, because you never know what tomorrow will bring. I can’t guarantee that I will play in another World Cup. Honestly, I don’t know. I’ll play like it’s my last one. Maybe we’ll play another one, maybe not. It depends… We could change coach, I don’t know if that coach would pick me.”
However, as it stands, Neymar’s PSG contract is set to run to 2027, meaning he is likely to still be playing at a high level when the next edition of the tournament, which is set to be staged in North America, arrives.
