Neymar ready to give everything for the 2026 World Cup
Neymar Jr has one clear goal: to play in the World Cup one last time. For that, he needs regular playing time.
Currently recovering at Santos after an injury that sidelined him since mid-September, the Brazilian also needs to consider his future, as his contract with the club expires at the end of the year. According to SPORT newspaper, a move to Inter Miami is on the cards. With experienced stars like Messi and Suárez already at the club, and two spots available in the squad for 2026, the stage is set for Neymar's potential arrival in MLS.
Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has even confirmed this World Cup dream:
We haven’t discussed an extension yet, but it’s a priority because Neymar wants to play in the next World Cup.
At 33, after stints with Barcelona, PSG, and in Saudi Arabia, Neymar Jr’s main focus is to be fit and in top form for the World Cup—even if a return to Europe now seems unlikely.
