Neymar has addressed his latest Brazil omission, insisting his World Cup ambition remains alive. He spoke on Monday in Guarulhos at a Kings League event.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the Santos number 10 admitted frustration at missing the most recent squad, but said he will keep working day by day to earn a recall.

He was again left out of Carlo Ancelotti’s 23-player squad for recent fixtures before the final World Cup call-up. The Italian watched Santos’ draw with Mirassol in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, yet Neymar did not feature.

Even so, Ancelotti has left the door open for the tournament, with any return dependent on an improvement in the forward’s fitness.

Neymar has not played for Brazil since 2023 after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Uruguay. He remains the national team’s record scorer with 79 goals.

He also converted the so-called “pênalti presidente” in a game between FURIA and DesimpaiN, but his side were beaten 7-4.
