Neymar is set to make his 15th appearance of the season for Santos against Coritiba at Neo Química Arena in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The 11:00 kick-off could be his final outing before Brazil name their World Cup squad on Monday, and if selected by Carlo Ancelotti he is not expected to play again for the club beforehand.
According to Globo.com, the 34-year-old has worked through injuries, absences and treatment in pursuit of a call-up that would bring the last World Cup of his career.
He has played 14 times for Santos this year after debuting on 15 February due to a left knee meniscus injury. He has six goals and four assists, 10 goal involvements in total.
In 2025 he featured in 28 matches, scoring 11 and adding four assists. Since rejoining the club, he has 42 appearances, 17 goals and eight assists.
Neymar had meniscus surgery on his left knee in December last year and has not suffered further injuries since returning. He has been on a managed workload, choosing which games to play and which to skip to avoid overload.
Recently he was involved in a training flashpoint, striking Robinho Jr in the face after a challenge. He apologised publicly to the player and his family, and Robinho withdrew a notification seeking explanations and action from the club.
If omitted from Ancelotti's final list, he is likely to pause to reassess his career, despite a contract at Santos to the end of the year.
