Neymar will miss Tuesday’s Conmebol Sudamericana tie at Universidad Central de Venezuela, having trained at CT Rei Pelé on Monday and scored a fine goal during the session.
In footage shared by his representatives, the No 10 worked with intensity and found the net several times, including rounding the goalkeeper in a small-sided game. According to Globo.com, he stayed in Brazil to follow an individual programme set by the coaching staff while the squad travelled in the morning to Valencia for the playoff.
Unlike the rest of the group, who had time off, Neymar played for Brazil at the World Cup and is continuing sessions to be available to head coach Cuca.
He is expected to return for Santos on Saturday at 18:30 Brasília time at Vila Belmiro against Chapecoense in the Brasileirão.
Cuca also left Gabigol, Willian Arão, João Schmidt and Igor Vinicius out of the trip. Midfielder Gustavo Henrique is recovering from a muscle injury.
