Neymar ‘to use’ Flamengo v Santos as key World Cup audition

UOL reports that Neymar views Flamengo v Santos on five April at the Maracanã, the 10th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, as fundamental to his hopes of making Brazil’s World Cup squad.

He considers the fixture the ideal stage to show he can still perform at a high level, and Brazil’s coaching staff will keep a close eye on it.

He wants to mirror his first-round display at Vila Belmiro, where he struck the winner in a 1-0 victory over Flamengo.

Before that, he plans to face Remo on Thursday two in the Brasileiro, though he regards the Flamengo meeting as more decisive for selection, the report said.

Flamengo, meanwhile, are focused on Bragantino on Thursday two at 21:30 Brasília time in Bragança Paulista, in the ninth round of the Brasileiro.
