Neymar stepped up his comeback at Santos on Monday and could be available for Wednesday's match with São Paulo at Vila Belmiro. If he makes the squad, it would be his first appearance of 2026.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the attacking midfielder completed a full ball session with the squad on the CT Rei Pelé pitch, having only taken part in segments last week.
He began the year focused on rehabilitation after undergoing arthroscopy on his left knee in December 2025. Although he has extended his contract with Santos until 31 December 2026, he has yet to feature this season.
In 2025 he played 30 matches, scored 12 goals and supplied six assists, contributing directly to the club's survival in Série A. The year was also marked by fitness issues, including meniscus surgery at the end of the calendar.
Back at CT Rei Pelé in January, he started a transition programme of physical work and ball drills, progressing to full integration with the group.
His schedule is being managed with the international calendar in mind. The key objective in 2026 is to regain match sharpness for the final FIFA window before the World Cup, aiming for a place in Carlo Ancelotti's final squad.
