Ever since Neymar left Saudi Arabia in January to return to Santos FC on a short-term contract, talks of a possible summer move to FC Barcelona have been doing the rounds.

The 33-year-old winger is believed to be dreaming of a return to the Blaugrana, having spent four successful years at the club between 2013 and 2017 before joining PSG in a world-record €222 million deal.

Barça, though, are not fully convinced about the move, with sporting director Deco even hinting that the Brazilian international is not in the club’s transfer plans for the summer.

Neymar undecided

Now, according to a fresh report from Florian Plettenberg, Neymar is yet to make any decision on his plans for the summer once his contract with Santos expires.

The update states that Barcelona are indeed interested in the idea of re-signing the 33-year-old attacker, who has been recalled into the Brazil national team squad for this month’s FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Colombia and Argentina.

However, nothing is decided at this point from the player’s end and the possibility of continuing in Brazil or moving to a top European club in the summer remains on the table.

It is further stated that Neymar’s contract with Santos does not have an option for an extension for another season.

Since returning to his boyhood club, the 33-year-old has scored and assisted three goals apiece from seven matches, showing signs of rediscovering his form after a forgettable stint in the Middle East.

Whether it leads to Neymar returning to Barcelona in the summer remains to be seen. For now, all options remain on the table.
