N'Golo Kanté has been called up for France’s American tour and, now integral at Fenerbahçe, has re-established himself with Les Bleus since November.
According to L'Équipe, his winter switch back to Europe renewed exposure, and he noted clear differences in tempo and atmosphere between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
He turns 35 on 29 March yet has logged heavy minutes as an automatic starter. Coach Domenico Tedesco welcomes his pairing with Mattéo Guendouzi, praising their vertical play, pressing and leadership.
Fenerbahçe are second, 4 points behind Galatasaray with a game more played. After a 0-2 loss at Karagümrük, a thinner crowd watched a 4-1 win over Gaziantep on 17 March, when Kanté scored.
For much of 2025, international breaks meant recovery as Didier Deschamps refreshed the squad, yet in November, with Adrien Rabiot and Aurélien Tchouaméni out, Kanté returned and impressed in a 4-0 win against Ukraine.
He is back again in March with his status intact. Deschamps joked about anyone writing him off and has kept him in mind since his recall.
Staff did not view Saudi Arabia as a handicap, and though he faded during Euro 2024, experience counts. Respected in the group, Kanté has 65 caps and 2 goals and accepts rotation. With France now 4-2-3-1, competition is fierce, yet he should feature in the United States this week and could return there in June.
