OGC Nice are seeking to achieve a sensational return for Portuguese international and Leicester City full-back Ricardo Pereira (29), according to Foot Mercato.

Pereira, who was at Nice between 2015 to 2017, wants to make a return to the Mediterranean club this summer. The Foxes, who were relegated to the English Championship the end of the 2022/23 campaign, are willing to allow the 29-year-old to depart during this summer transfer window.

Whilst Leicester would prefer an outright sale, the talks that are currently ongoing with OGC Nice relate to an initial loan deal, for the player who is under contract until June 2026. Should the Portuguese international return to the Allianz Riviera, he could become Les Aiglons’ first signing of the current window. Nice are currently the only club in Ligue 1 not to have recruited, although according to a report from Foot Mercato, Aston Villa’s Morgan Sanson could join on loan in the coming hours.
