Algerian international and Nice attacking midfielder Billal Brahimi (22) is nearing a loan move to fourteenth-placed Ligue 1 side Troyes, according to a report from L’Equipe. The former Middlesbrough and Angers player was short of game time with Les Aiglons, having joined Nice from Angers in a €7m move last January, but never living up to expectations with his game time dwindling.
Brahimi has only played twelve Ligue 1 games this season, most of them coming off the bench. He scored one goal this term when Nice drew away at Cologne in the Europa Conference League group stage. Brahimi was left out of Nice head coach Didier Digard’s squad this Sunday as Les Aiglons host Lille for Ligue 1 gameweek 20.
L’Équipe report that the Algerian international midfielder will join Troyes for a six-month loan. Brahimi would be Troyes’ second signing of the January transfer window after the arrival of French international U20 striker Tibidi from Stuttgart.
