The match between OGC Nice and Toulouse, which had been at risk of postponement due to the state of the pitch at the Allianz Riviera, will take place as planned on Sunday, the LFP have confirmed.

Local authorities, the owners of the Allianz Riviera, crticised the state of the pitch in a press release earlier this week. Nice Eco Stadium, responsible for laying the pitch, responded with a commuiqué, citing the growth of mushrooms on the pitch, relayed earlier this summer following a Travis Scott concert, the weather conditions, and a series of Olympics matches held in the stadium have contributed to the state of the suboptimal pitch.

In reaction to the local authorities’ criticism, the league sent a delegate in order to insepct the pitch. A meeting took place on Thursday where it was decided that the match will go ahead on Sunday, as planned with the LFP satisfied that the pitch is playable.
