After failed attempts to sign Greenwood and then Summerville, the Giallorossi are ready to go all-in for the Leipzig talent, who is unlikely to move for less than €60 million.

However, sporting director Tony D’Amico cannot afford to be caught off guard and is studying possible alternatives. In addition to Stuttgart’s Leweling and Brentford’s Schade, the Giallorossi are reportedly monitoring another player.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma has set its sights on Nico Gonzalez.

The Argentine, fresh from the World Cup with Argentina, wants to leave Juventus, and Atlético Madrid appears ready to welcome him back to Spain after last season on loan.

However, should the agreement between the “Old Lady” and the Spanish club fall through, Roma would be ready to make their offer to the Bianconeri.

Nico Gonzalez’s name is therefore, at least for now, an alternative to Nusa’s Plan A, but the transfer market can be unpredictable, and the Argentine could be the much-needed attacking reinforcement Gasperini has long sought.
