Nico Paz’s potential return to Real Madrid has been the subject of much discussion recently.
The young Argentine midfielder has impressed one and all during his time at Como, but Real Madrid must carefully consider their current squad before making a decision about exercising their buy-back option.
This is because Bringing the former Castilla player back could have significant consequences, particularly for Arda Guler, a promising talent who has struggled for regular minutes this season.
Nico’s performances in Serie A have been outstanding. At just 20 years old, the attacking midfielder has made a real impact at Como, scoring six goals and registering four assists in 23 appearances.
His performances have shown that he is ready to step up and contribute to a top-level team. Real Madrid’s management has taken notice, and it is believed that he could be part of the first team for the 2024/25 season.

On the flip side, Guler has faced challenges in securing a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup. While he has shown glimpses of his talent, his game time has been limited, and he has only accumulated 967 minutes in total this season.
With three goals and five assists to his name, his potential is clear, but competition in Real Madrid’s attacking department is fierce, and he has not had enough opportunities to showcase his skills consistently.
In light of this, Real Madrid may want to part ways with Guler in order to make space for Ncio. What remains uncertain is whether Guler’s departure will be permanent or if he could be sent out on loan to continue his development elsewhere.
Regardless, Nico’s return would reshape the midfield options at Madrid and could mark the end of Guler’s immediate future at the club. It is a decision that will have significant implications for both players’ careers.
