An update on the wellbeing of Athletic Club star Nico Williams has on Monday come to the fore online.
And the news will no doubt be met with widespread relief on the part of fans of the Spanish national team.
Winger Nico for his part set alarm bells sounding across all of Spain on Sunday evening.
This came after the 23-year-old was forced into a premature departure from Athletic Club’s La Liga defeat at the hands of Valencia.
The concern was immediately evident across Nico’s face, giving rise to fears that the attacker could be ruled out of this summer’s World Cup.
If the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, however, then any such absence now looks altogether unlikely.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Spain forward Nico Williams is set to miss the remainder of the season for Athletic Club but is expected to be fit for the World Cup following an injury scare at the weekend. Sources close to the winger have told The Athletic that tests have confirmed that the hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared, with Williams expected to be sidelined for around three weeks.’
