After signing Pau Victor and Dani Olmo in the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona are looking to bring more attacking reinforcements to their team.

The Catalans are particularly looking for a new left winger, and for this purpose, they tried to sign the Athletic Club forward Nico Williams last summer. They remained linked with him for the entirety of the transfer window but were ultimately unable to get him because of their financial problems.

Now, the Blaugranes are set to face him as an opponent in their upcoming semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup, and ahead of this game, the winger appeared in an interview with Jorge Valdano in which he talked about his relationship with one Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal.

Nico opened up on how he enjoys a special relationship with the Blaugrana winger, and Morata had to rein them in when they were looking to make mischief during their time together with the Spanish national team squad.

However, as SPORT has reported, there was another Barcelona player about whom Nico talked in this interview. This player was Marc Casado and the Basque winger expressed his surprise at seeing his quality:

“I was blown away by him. Happy to have shared the locker room with them; they make me a better player.”

Nico was not the only person surprised to see Casado playing at such a high-level last season. The €30 million-rated Barcelona midfielder exceeded expectations with his performances and made himself a clear starter for Hansi Flick after Marc Bernal’s injury.

Later, he also got his first call-up with the senior Spain side and also made his debut with his national side a few months ago. It was there that he coincided with Casado, and was impressed with his quality. Hopefully, the midfielder will continue playing at the level he has displayed up to now and help Barcelona win a piece of silverware this season.
