Nico Williams to make decision on Barcelona move in next 24 hours – report | OneFootball

The Nico Williams transfer saga has dominated the Spanish football media for the entire summer, but it now appears that an announcement, which would bring weeks of speculation to an end, is coming very soon.

Sport have reported that Williams is expected to communicate his decision in the next few hours. He’ll be deciding between Barcelona, Athletic Club and Paris Saint-Germain, whom the Catalans feel threatened by in their pursuit of the 22-year-old winger.

There is a significant number of club officials that are optimistic that Williams will join, although they also understand that he’d only be joining because of his desire to wear the Barcelona jersey, as PSG would offer a significantly better financial package.

Williams is currently in Marbella with Lamine Yamal, who could be his club teammate for next season. If he gives the green light to Barcelona, they will immediately notify La Liga of their intention to pay his Athletic Club release clause, which is valued at €58m.
