Nicolas Gonzalez dedicated his goal for Juventus against Parma to Weston McKennie because he said the American had predicted that he would score.

The Argentinian could still leave Juventus in this transfer window, and he was playing his first game for the club in more than a year.

He spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and still wants to join them, but Juve would love to keep him as they have lost Kenan Yildiz to a long-term injury.

Gonzalez is a top player, and he came off the bench to deliver a Man of the Match performance for the Bianconeri.

His goal and overall contributions overwhelmed Parma, and Juve managed to score another goal to win the match comfortably.

Gonzalez makes immediate impact

The Bianconeri would sell him if he wants to leave and the right offer arrives, but if he wants to stay, they will be glad to keep him in their squad.

His fine performance against Parma will make it harder for Juve to allow him to leave, but for now, he is enjoying the night after producing a superb display.

Gonzalez made a significant impact after coming off the bench, providing Juventus with the attacking quality they needed to break through Parma’s resistance.

His goal helped change the game, while his overall performance demonstrated why Juventus would be reluctant to lose him during the closing stages of the transfer window.

Gonzalez explains McKennie tribute

Asked why he dedicated his goal to McKennie, he said via Tuttojuve:

“Because he told me before the game that I would go in and score a goal, and in the end we did.”

After being told that the American also celebrated him in the box, he added: “I saw him, he was happy. And yesterday was his birthday, a nice present.”

The goal therefore had a personal meaning for Gonzalez, who was delighted to deliver after McKennie predicted that he would find the net.

For Juventus, the performance also provides another reason to consider keeping the Argentinian. Although he remains a potential departure this summer, his contribution against Parma showed the quality he can offer the team.

With Yildiz unavailable for a long period, Gonzalez could become an even more important option for Juve if he remains at the club.
