Bayern Munich will not keep Nicolas Jackson beyond this season, and the Chelsea loanee will return to the Blues at the end of June.
"We will not trigger the option for Nicolas Jackson. He did not reach the required number of matches," said sporting director Max Eberl, speaking to ZDF. He has 10 Bundesliga starts and 3 in the Champions League.
The 24-year-old joined on loan last summer with a 65 million euro option to buy.
Developed at Villarreal, he joined Chelsea in 2023 and has 30 goals in 81 appearances for the club.
The Senegal striker has 31 caps and eight goals. At Bayern he has 10 goals and 4 assists in 29 matches, largely as Harry Kane's understudy.
His latest strike came on Saturday at Mainz in the Bundesliga, a 4-3 win in which he sparked the comeback.
