Nicolas Jackson has made his preferred destination clear to Chelsea. The Senegalese striker wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer and is prioritizing Newcastle United, where the Magpies have missed out on their main attacking targets.
Jackson was excluded from the squad for the friendly against Bayer Leverkusen, held last Friday at Stamford Bridge. Not called up by Enzo Maresca, he trained away from the first team, a clear sign that a move is imminent. Having slipped down the attacking pecking order following the arrivals of João Pedro and Liam Delap, the Senegal international has expressed to the Blues' management his intention to leave the club.
Nicolas Jackson has officially notified Chelsea's management of his desire for a change of scenery during this summer transfer window. According to Footmercato, the Senegal international has chosen Newcastle United as his preferred destination. This preference for the Magpies is due to the concrete interest shown by the club managed by Eddie Howe. Newcastle United now view Jackson as their plan C after missing out on Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Šeško, who have chosen Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.
Chelsea initially value Jackson at around £80 million, but a drop to £65 million now seems likely to speed up his departure. It's worth noting that other European clubs are also keeping a close eye on Jackson's situation. AC Milan and Juventus are among the interested parties for the former Villarreal striker.
