Former Celtic winger Nicolas Kühn has completed a loan move to join Borussia Monchengladbach. The Bundesliga side have snapped up the German attacker after just one season in Serie A after his €19m switch from Celtic.

Gladbach have moved quickly to secure the services of Kühn, who appears to be out of Cesc Fabregas’ plans with the picturesque Italian side. The 26-year-old was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon as the transfer window enters its final period.

Kühn struggled to replicate his sparking Celtic form with Como, scoring once and assisting once in 24 Serie A appearances. Hopefully he can find some form with Borussia.

After signing from Rapid Vienna in January 2024, Kühn scored 24 goals and assisted 18 times in 69 appearances for the club, helping Celtic to win four trophies. It was expected that the player would attract interest from across Europe after his impressive displays in the UEFA Champions League. Como was a strange move but he was able to benefit from a period of coaching from Brendan Rodgers and John Kennedy, which took his game to another level and allowed Celtic to make a significant profit on the deal.

Good luck to Nicolas in ‘Gladbach.
