Nicole makes first Corinthians start since Women's Libertadores final

On the night of last Friday (13th), Corinthians visited Atlético-MG at Arena MRV, in a match valid for the first round of the Brazilian Women's Championship, and ended up winning by a score of 1 x 0. Letícia Monteiro, midway through the first half, scored the goal for the Brabas. The three points put the team in the fight for the top positions in the national tournament.

Besides the victory, goalkeeper Nicole returned to play as a starter for the Brabas for the first time since October 18, 2025, that is, almost four months ago. On that occasion, the Alvinegro defeated Deportivo Cali in a penalty shootout, 5 x 3, after a goalless draw in regular time, and won the sixth title of the Conmebol Libertadores Feminina.

At that time, even with an injury to one of her fingers, she was crucial in the Brabas' victory during the 90 minutes and in the penalty shootout. Treated by the technical staff, the goalkeeper endured the pain and had her little finger immobilized. After the match, she missed the final stretch of the season – the semifinal and final of the Paulista Championship, where Lelê ended up replacing her.

Nicole had returned to play last Saturday (7th), when she came off the bench in the final of the Women's Supercup against Palmeiras at Arena Barueri, replacing Lelê, who left the field after a head injury. Against Atlético-MG last Friday, she started the match as a starter again and had a solid performance, making four saves throughout the match. She had already played for the Minas Gerais team between 2022 and 2023, where she played 19 times.

Since joining Corinthians at the beginning of 2024, she has played 50 matches wearing the Corinthians jersey, with 32 wins, 13 draws, and five losses, representing a success rate of 72.67%. Additionally, she has won four titles: Brazilian Championship (2024 and 2025) and Conmebol Libertadores (2024 and 2025).

Now, the Parque São Jorge club will return to the field next Friday (20th) at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), when they will face Fluminense at Neo Química Arena, for the second round of the Brazilian Women's Championship.
