Super Falcons of Nigeria star Rinsola Babajide has reacted strongly following the announcement of the postponement of the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

The continental body recently confirmed that the tournament, initially set for March 17 to April 3 in Morocco, has been rescheduled to run from July 25 to August 16, 2026. CAF explained that the change followed unforeseen issues that arose after discussions with global football authorities and other competition stakeholders.

Rinsola Babajide slammed CAF for postponing the Women’s AFCON, which was originally scheduled from March 17 to April 3 in Morocco. On social media, she didn’t mince her words: “It’s honestly become embarrassing.” Her comments reflect the frustration of many teams who had already started their preparations for the tournament.

The tournament has been moved to July 25 to August 16, 2026. According to CAF, this change is due to “unforeseen issues” that arose after discussions with international authorities and African football stakeholders.

Despite her frustration, Babajide emphasized the importance for players to remain focused and professional in light of the new schedule.
