Inter Milan and Nike have officially unveiled the Nerazzurri’s 2026/27 home kit, a black-and-blue vertical-stripe design that draws explicitly from the iconic 1998 shirt, with University Gold used on the crest and Swoosh to recreate the late-90s Nike branding that defined the Ronaldo era.
The club announced the kit went on sale on 19 May 2026 through the Inter online store, San Siro outlet, Inter Store Milano, and selected Nike stores in Milan and Rome, with wider retail distribution – including JD Sports – opening from 26 May. The fan version is Nike’s Dri-FIT Stadium replica in recycled polyester construction; a separate Elite/Match version with performance fabric is available for those who want the athlete cut.
The stripe architecture returns to clear vertical bands after two seasons of more experimental layouts, but with thicker black bands and zig-zag edges on the blue stripes to add visual dynamism. Specialist kit outlet Footy Headlines describes the design as a “return of the classic striped design” with the logo tone rendered in a “half yellow, half orange” shade that reinforces the Milan fashion-house palette.
The shirt’s classic collar – framed by Nike and Inter as a nod to Milano’s tailoring tradition – carries an inner neck detail reading “Made of Milano,” positioning the design as a bridge between the club’s identity and the city’s fashion industry. The stripe detailing is explicitly meant to evoke tailored pinstripes.
Fan reaction has been broadly positive, with the R9-era aesthetic drawing the loudest praise, though a minority on r/FCInterMilan find the zig-zag edge slightly overdesigned against a fully traditional template. The timing of the launch, coming off the domestic double under Cristian Chivu and a period of positive momentum across all levels of the club, adds commercial weight to what is already one of Nike’s stronger recent Inter home designs. A retro-inspired third kit in Iron Grey, Black and Tour Yellow – nodding to the 1997/98 third shirt – is expected around August 2026.
