Niklas Süle has joined Kreisliga outfit SV Tiefenbach after retiring from professional football at the end of the 2025/26 season following injury struggles. The former Borussia Dortmund defender is 30.

“I’m really looking forward to experiencing football from a completely different perspective again – where it’s purely about the game itself and not about business or money. Two of my best friends play for SV Tiefenbach, and one of them is even the coach.” He was speaking to Sky.

“After 13 years in professional football, it’s an absolute gift to share the pitch with my mates again and simply enjoy this wonderful sport to the fullest.”

The move is expected to be remembered as the most remarkable signing in the club’s history.

He was playing Champions League football as recently as last season.
