The past week has brought a sense of doom and gloom in the atmosphere surrounding Real Madrid, for the team first lost to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League before being held to a draw by Rayo Vallecano.
The team’s performance has been questioned, as well as the credentials of manager Xabi Alonso. There have also been speculations of growing rifts within the locker room, with not all players said to be happy with how the manager was running things.
All this had given way to a tense situation, prompting talks of an impending crisis at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid retain full and total confidence in Alonso.
There is an admittance that there are some things that need to be fixed, but within the club, there is no talk of a crisis or catastrophe at this point.

The higher-ups, including club president Florentino Perez, maintain their trust and confidence on the Basque tactician, who joined the club in June.
After all, despite the recent narrative, Real Madrid are still at the top of the La Liga table and are in a strong position to secure a top-eight finish in the UEFA Champions League table.
So, despite all the noise around the club, there is nothing internally, with everyone at the club maintaining total trust in Alonso, who is still young in his managerial career and has a challenge in front of him.
Real Madrid return to action against Elche after the international break before facing the likes of Olympiacos and Girona. A positive run during those matches will once again see the narrative shift.
