Manchester United fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the club’s end to the transfer window is considerably more active than their first two-and-a-half weeks.

It certainly has the potential to be if the latest reports are anything to go by, with all of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford.

Two days ago, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Antony’s loan move to Real Betis had been green-lit by all parties ahead of the player flying to Spain and completing all required medical tests. However, he has since been spotted in this afternoon’s open training session at Carrington, prompting fans to question whether the deal had collapsed.

Also involved in United’s Europa League preparations was Rashford, who hasn’t been utilised by Ruben Amorim since December 12 and has consequently missed nine successive matches in all competitions. He has garnered interest from a host of top European clubs, but it’s his costly wages that are proving to cause a roadblock in negotiations with his suitors.

Supporters have been told to expect at least one arrival amidst all the outgoings speculation. Romano shared on X/Twitter today that he had ‘no doubts’ the Reds ‘will sign a new left wing-back’.

The board are actively pursuing Lecce fullback Patrick Dorgu along with Napoli, while former academy prospect Alvaro Carreras is also on their shortlist following his scintillating form for Benfica – primarily due to the fact they retain a £15.2 million buyback clause.

Should any of the wantaway forward trio leave, at least one replacement will also be imperative to ensure Amorim isn’t left too short on options for the remainder of the season.
