Portuguese midfielder Sérgio Oliveira won’t be returning to Roma and is closing in on a permanent switch to Galatasaray.
According to SIC Notícias journalist Pedro Sepúlveda, the Turkish side have agreed to pay Porto €3 million to acquire the 30 year-old after his loan deal with Roma expired last month.
Oliveira has accepted a four-year contract from the club and will arrive in Istanbul in the coming days to seal the move.
The midfielder spent the previous six months in the Italian capital with Roma after opting to leave boyhood club Porto in January.
After initially drawing praise for his strong performances, Oliveira faded in the latter stages of the season and usually found himself on the bench.
However, he registered a solid performance in Roma’s UEFA Conference League final victory over Feyenoord in late May.
