With the international break barely over, all eyes are already turning to the start of the Champions League quarter-finals. And with less than seven days to go before Liverpool visit the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain and Luis Enrique are hoping to welcome back some of their key players from injury.
Starting with Bradley Barcola (23), who suffered an ankle sprain in mid-March and was forced to withdraw from the French national team’s latest training camp. When asked about the fitness of his young forward, Enrique was unable to give any indication of when he might return — who nevertheless hinted that he would be unavailable for the first leg.
“Will he be fit for the second leg against Liverpool? I don’t know, I can’t give you that information. You can’t ask Bradley Barcola that question. When I speak to him, I ask him how he’s feeling. But there’s no rush,” the Parisian manager told the press ahead of Friday’s Ligue 1 match against Toulouse FC. “The most important thing is that he recovers well. When will he be ready? I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see how he progresses.”
A key member of the PSG squad, Barcola has started in all 12 of the Red and Blues’ Champions League matches since the start of the season (scoring two goals and providing three assists).
