FC Bayern will be looking to strengthen their squad as much as possible this summer. For the record champions, the main focus will be on investing in width. Does this mean that no top star will be coming in the summer?

In recent years, FCB have signed players such as Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, all three of whom form one of the best attacking lines in world soccer in recent years and decades

It’s no wonder that Munich are happy with deals of this kind. Anthony Gordon has now been chosen to add even more flexibility to the attack, but he is moving to FC Barcelona

Are Bayern saving themselves a top transfer?

The question now is what alternatives FCB have up their sleeve for the summer. In the Bayern Insider podcast, SportBILD reporter Christian Falk gave an insight into the record champions‘ personnel planning. He also revealed that the record champions are looking at alternatives to Gordon, but these are reportedly one category below the Englishman

„There probably won’t be a superstar. They will go for young talent. They have several names on the list. But there won’t be a star in the category of Anthony Gordon,“ said Falk.

There are a number of young and exciting talents on the market as alternatives to Gordon, the only question is who FC Bayern trust to reach a high level within one or two seasons to provide an alternative at the very highest level.

However, it is not necessarily to be expected that Bayern will save a lot of money this summer by foregoing a top-class deal. After all, the market is complicated and even young, up-and-coming players can be very expensive. It is therefore all the more important that the selection is right and Bayern can make a smart transfer.
