Raphaël Guerreiro has been a constant topic in the rumour mill in recent weeks. There has been repeated speculation about a premature departure of the Portuguese, also because clubs from Italy and Portugal are said to have shown great interest. According to the latest reports, a sale in January is not an issue at Säbener Straße
According to information from the BILD podcast„Bayern Insider“, a transfer in the winter is out of the question. FC Bayern are firmly planning on the 31-year-old for the second half of the season – and coach Vincent Kompany sees him as an indispensable part of his squad
As Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl report, the record champions are not considering letting Guerreiro go in the winter break. The main reason for this is the shortage of personnel and the enormous importance Kompany attaches to the left-footer
„He doesn’t want to let him go in the winter because he is a versatile player, i.e. someone who can cover many positions. You simply need him in a very tight squad,“ explained Altschäffl in the podcast

Kompany himself had raved about Guerreiro after the Champions League win against Sporting Lisbon, describing him as a „fantastic professional“ who can „help the team in any situation“ and emphasizing that the veteran is an important part of the team
For Falk, the coach’s statements are clear: „It doesn’t sound to me as if he wants to give him away.“
Despite the clear winter necessity, a long-term perspective without Guerreiro is emerging. As Altschäffl emphasizes, it is assumed that their time together will end next summer: „I think we will part ways after the season. The contract will not be extended.“
The all-rounder can be deployed in several positions – as a left-back, at number eight or in the center – but he has never been able to establish himself as a permanent regular in Munich. Injuries have repeatedly set him back and, in view of the squad’s development, an extension seems unlikely
There are also clear signals from the club, with sporting director Max Eberl recently emphasizing that „no new construction sites“ should be opened up in the winter. However, Guerreiro’s departure would create exactly that – a gap that would be almost impossible to close in the short term.
