Leeds United will be without Noah Okafor for at least two weeks after a hamstring injury. The winger was hurt during the FA Cup tie at Birmingham City.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, he pulled up after a second-half sprint and faces between two and four weeks out, missing Aston Villa away and Manchester City at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke has tried all season to manage the Swiss international's workload but says he cannot wrap him in cotton wool. Okafor has been available for all but one game, starting 18 and making 27 appearances. A minor groin issue kept him out at Burnley and he has completed only one start.

Farke explained that Okafor's size and explosive style mean more high-speed running and repeated sprints, which can raise muscle-injury risk. He tends to substitute the forward once fatigue shows, mindful of his injury record.

Despite medical input and the player's extra sprint and conditioning work away from Thorp Arch, this setback has arrived. Farke called it an occupational hazard in winter, citing heavy workloads and difficult pitches, and said attacking players must be allowed to express their pace.
