Playing much more regularly than last season, Ăverton Ribeiro has returned to play a very decisive role in Flamengoâs games.
His most-recent growth in production growth is undoubtedly tied to the arrival of Renato GaĂșcho.
After Flamengo replaced RogĂ©rio Ceni, who is still without a club, Ăverton Ribeiroâs numbers have gone through the roof.
Under Rogério Ceni: 18 games 0 goals 1 assist
Under Renato GaĂșcho: 19 games 2 goals 7 assists
The 32-year-old has been incredible over his last two games heading into the October Fifa date, scoring against Athletico-PR and dishing out both assists in last weekâs Copa Libertadores semi-final second-leg win over Barcelona (ECU).
Of course, he also scored two of Brazilâs three goals in their last two World Cup qualifying victories and should be in line to start against both Venezuela and Colombia this week.
