Bronze Ball and Bronze Boot winner Celia Segura opened the scoring for Spain just after the hour mark but North Korea took only four minutes to get back on level terms through Jon Il-chong, who was presented with the Golden Ball award.

Golden Boot recipient as tournament top scorer and also winner of the Silver Ball, Pau Comendador was one of two Spanish players to fail to convert a penalty in the shoot out, as the Koreans pipped Spain 4-3 from the spot with the decider netted by Kang Ryu-mi.

USA’s Kennedy Fuller was given the Silver Boot and teammate Evan O’Steen the Golden Glove, while the Fair Play award went to Nigeria.
