Northern Ireland were held to a 0-0 draw by Hungary at Windsor Park, missing the chance to make it two competitive wins in a row for the first time since November 2024.

Michael O'Neill’s side started brightly, with Ethan Galbraith and Isaac Price seeing efforts blocked before Patrick Kelly twice went close. His delicate chip was clawed away by Balázs Tóth, while another close-range effort struck the crossbar.

Hungary improved after the break but created little, with Donát Bárány heading over from a promising position. Price then forced Tóth into a good save as Northern Ireland pushed for a late winner.

The visitors had their best opportunity moments before stoppage time, but Alex Tóth was denied by Pierce Charles, who had barely been tested until then.

Neither side could find a breakthrough, leaving Northern Ireland on four points from two Group B2 matches without conceding. They face Ukraine in Slovakia on Friday, while Hungary host Georgia.
