Norway beat Côte d’Ivoire 2-1, their progress anchored by captain Martin Ödegaard, while Yan Diomandé struggled to impose himself.
According to L'Équipe, Ödegaard was given seven for dictating play and supplying the opener, with Örjan Nyland also on seven and Antonio Nusa on six.
Nusa struck first on 39 minutes, fed by Ödegaard, curling right-footed into the top corner. Nyland then denied Nicolas Pépé on 55.
Alexander Sorloth, ineffective on the right, made way for Bobb on 71, and Nusa was replaced by Schelderup. Côte d’Ivoire levelled on 74, Diallo finishing after Pépé’s perfect lay-off.
Bobb’s through ball released Berg and the move ended with Haaland’s 86th-minute winner, sending Norway through. Deep in added time, Nyland acrobatically tipped Diallo’s free-kick away on 90+6.
Ghislain Konan earned six for driving down the left and defending stoutly, and was not at fault for Haaland’s goal. Pépé, also on six, created repeatedly and set up Diallo, but his finishing lacked precision.
Sorloth received three after a blunt outing wide right. Diomandé, rated four and linked with PSG, kept it tidy but took too few risks, while Ange-Yoan Bonny’s two reflected a display short on hold-up play. Wahi’s lively entrance on 60 underlined the contrast.
