Norwich City boss Philippe Clement says he will not rush players back from injury as he provided an updates on several members of his squad.
Clement was speaking ahead of the Canaries’ season opener against MK Dons in the Carabao Cup, with the club having already confirmed that Ali Ahmed is set to be out for most of the season with a serious knee injury.
But Ante Crnac is set for a return to competitive action after a long spell out.
“He’s been ten months out, so I don’t expect miracles,” Clement said on Crnac.
“Players don’t win anything when they are not ready to play or they have more risk for other injuries.
“I’ve seen a player who loves to play football and with really good technical skills to make him a really strong athlete.”
Clement also confirmed Pelle Mattsson will be available for selection again after completing a full week of training.
“Pelle trained all week, so he will be in the selection again,” he said.
Papa Amadou Diallo has also returned to training but will not be considered for this weekend’s game as he continues to build up his fitness.
“Papa trained but it’s too early for him this week; he’s been working really hard like all the others,” Clement added.
There was also positive news regarding Jovon Makama, who has begun working individually on the pitch as he continues his recovery.
“Jovon has also been on the pitch individually, so that’s going the right way,” Clement said.
