Norwich's star winger has left the club to join Porto - they're now looking for a successor.
Norwich City have "expressed their interest" in Hyunjun Yang, Celtic's South Korean winger, following the exit of Borja Sainz.
The Spaniard's exit from Carrow Road felt inevitable this summer, but that has helped Norwich in their preparations to try and fill his spot in the team.
Sainz has joined Porto in a deal said to be worth £14.25 million and is also reported to include a 20 per cent sell-on clause, as per The Pink Un.
City's sporting director, Ben Knapper, has described the sale of the 24-year-old, who scored 18 times in the Championship last season, earning himself a spot in the division's Team of the Season, as "a fantastic move for all parties."
Now the former Arsenal loans manager has the task of finding Liam Manning a player that can help to replace the goal threat that Sainz offered, and for this they are looking north of the border.
Yang is a player of interest to the Canaries, according to Sky Sports, and he is looking to potentially move on from Celtic this summer.
Having moved to Glasgow from his home country just two summers ago, the 23-year-old has struggled to cement his place in the Hoops' first-team.
He was bought for around £2 million, as per Sky, as part of Celtic's recent recruiting raids in Asia that have really moved into fifth gear since the beginning of Ange Postecoglou's tenure.
Yang has amassed a respectable record in his two seasons in the Scottish top flight. He improved to five goals and two assists last season in limited starts following the one goal and three assists that he registered in his debut campaign with Celtic.
It hasn't been decided yet by Brendan Rogers' side whether or not they will let the South Korean international leave this summer. He still has just under three years left on his deal with them, giving Norwich little leverage in negotiations.
They will also not be alone in their potential pursuit of Yang, with Polish side Legia Warsaw also reportedly interested in the wide player, as per Anthony Joseph.
If Norwich are pipped to the Celtic man by Legia or any other prospective suitor, they do have other options on their watchlist.
Sky have also reported that they are keen on Metz winger Pape Diallo. He has already undergone a medical with Championship rivals Watford, though, making a move for the 21-year-old fairly tough for the Canaries.
Finding a player that can provide your team with 18 goals for a decent price is always going to be difficult, no matter what division you're in. The encouraging thing for Norwich supporters is that the club have obviously been proactive.
They knew that Sainz was likely to leave the club.
He had one year left on his deal with them heading into the new campaign and there was interest from across Europe. Because of their work prior to the Spaniard actually being sold, they're in a decent position to move quickly and plug his gap in the squad.
