All the latest headlines surrounding Norwich City
Norwich City will be hoping to fight for promotion to the Premier League again next season.
David Wagner oversaw a sixth place finish in the Championship last year, with the Canaries missing out on a top flight return with a play-off semi-final loss to Leeds United.
Johannes Hoff Thorup has since been installed as manager following Wagner’s dismissal in the aftermath of that loss to the Whites.
Norwich will be aiming to back their new manager in the transfer window, with the club aiming for a top two finish over the next 12 months.
Transfers are already happening across the division, with the market now open until 30 August.
Here we take a look at all the latest headlines surrounding Norwich…
Josh Sargent was linked with a move to Leeds earlier in the summer following his excellent Championship campaign.
However, according to The Athletic, the Norwich striker is in no rush to exit Carrow Road anytime soon.
Sargent is currently competing with the US national team in this year’s edition of Copa America, having been on the bench for their 2-0 win over Bolivia in their opening group game on Sunday.
The 24-year-old scored 16 goals in 26 appearances in the second division last season, playing a key role in the team’s sixth place finish (all stats from Fbref).
Sargent has a contract with Norwich until the summer of 2028, giving the club a strong negotiating position if concrete interest arrives during the transfer window.
It emerged earlier this week that Scottish giants Rangers are eyeing a move for midfielder Kenny McLean this summer.
The 32-year-old has previously revealed his desire to represent the Glasgow club at some point in his career.
However, according to Pink Un, it will take a substantial offer to convince the Canaries to cash in on the Scotland international this summer.
He featured in all 46 of the team’s regular league games in the last campaign, proving a key part of the first team squad, and Hoff Thorup is keen to see what he’s capable of in pre-season.
McLean has a contract with the Championship side for another two years, with the option for an extra 12 month extension on top of that.
Sam McCallum’s time at Norwich City has come to an end following the conclusion of his contract.
According to Alan Nixon, the left-back is wanted by a number of clubs this summer, including Sheffield United.
The Blades face competition in the race to his signature from Championship rivals Stoke City.
McCallum will be available as a free agent, with his four-year stint at Carrow Road set to finish up at the end of the month.
The 23-year-old made 27 appearances in the league last season, including 16 starts, as he contributed one goal from the left-flank.
