Norwich City City have sacked head coach Liam Manning following a late 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City, leaving the Canaries second-bottom in the Championship.

The Canaries had taken the lead in the 62nd minute through Mathias Kvistgaarden, his second goal in consecutive games, but Bobby Cordova-Reid equalised shortly after.

The match was sealed in dramatic fashion when Jordan James nodded in a winner for Leicester, leaving Norwich with seven straight home defeats and 11 matches without a win in all competitions.

Manning, who joined Norwich in the summer from Bristol City after guiding them to the play-offs, departs with the club second from bottom, four points from safety.

His 17-game spell at Carrow Road ends after a campaign that never gained momentum.

Ryan Garry has been appointed interim head coach, assisted by goalkeeper coach Tony Roberts and set-piece coach Nick Stanley, as the club looks to arrest the slide and begin the fight against relegation.
