As revealed in a report by the Pink Un on Saturday afternoon, Norwich are working on a deal to bring the versatile wide-man across the Atlantic to Norfolk this month after extensively tracking his developments over in Canada.

The relegation-threatened Canaries have enjoyed something of an upturn in fortunes throughout recent weeks following the dismissal of Liam Manning, with new boss Clement having lost just three of his first ten matches in the dugout.

Norwich's form has not directed too much change to the league standings and Clement's side remain in the relegation zone despite victories over the likes of QPR, Charlton Athletic and promotion hopefuls Southampton, such were the struggles prior to the appointment of the ex-Rangers chief, although they are now trending upwards and could receive yet another important boost if Ahmed's signature can be acquired at some stage this month.

Though a deal is yet to be agreed and appears to be some way off completion at this moment of time, Norwich seemingly hold a strong interest in the 25-year-old, who is one of a number of attacking additions on the club's radar in what is a hugely important month for City's survival hopes.

Clement has emphasised the need to recruit quality in the winter window, and Ahmed represents an intriguing potential capture at Carrow Road.

Ahmed has steadily forged a richly-exciting reputation over in the MLS, having emerged as a real standout in the 2025 campaign.

In what was Ahmed's third full season in the Whitecaps first-team, he provided four goals and an impressive 12 assists across all competitions, including 10 in league action, as his side finished second in the Western standings.

Most at home when deployed on the left-wing, Ahmed can also operate at left-back or in central midfield, the latter of which his qualities have been particularly lauded.

Back in 2023, then-Canada manager John Herdman described the 22-cap international as possessing "the 10-yard speed that top midfielders have", in what is a rather encouraging endorsement of his abilities as a potential switch to Norwich beckons.
