The Canaries will be concerned as Andre Brooks has withdrawn from international duty due to injury.

The international break can be frustrating, not only because of the lack of club football, but also because of the risk of player injury, as Norwich City are discovering.

A bulk of Canaries players were called up by their respective countries, and a host of them have already withdrawn due to injury.

Kenny McLean, Jose Córdoba, Ben Chrisene, Mohamed Toure and Paris Maghoma have all withdrawn with some of their injuries sustained while playing for the Canaries, while others were picked up on international duty.

Now, the Norfolk club are waiting anxiously as key man Andre Brooks has withdrawn from the Jamaica squad through injury, in what has been a costly couple of days for Philippe Clement's side.

Brooks has been a revelation at Carrow Road since signing from Sheffield United this summer, and losing him now would be a substantial blow to Norwich.

The right-winger has already contributed three goals and three assists in all competitions in what has been a disappointing start to the season for Clement's men.

Brooks was called up by Jamaica for their CONCACAF Nations League encounters against Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, with the Reggae Boyz securing a 3-2 victory over Guatemala overnight.

However, the Canaries winger was not in the Jamaica squad for the encounter, with The Jamaica Observer reporting that he withdrew from selection due to injury.

After such an emphatic start to the campaign, it is needless to say that Brooks would be a huge miss for Norwich should he be sidelined through injury.

The right-winger has started every single Championship match so far this season and is one of the club's most dangerous threats, with two league goals and two assists for the Canaries.

Going forward, the 23-year-old has been a constant threat, ranking in the top four percent of players in his position for expected goals (xG), shots on target and touches in the opposition box, according to FotMob.

However, it is not only his attacking that would be missed, but also his defensive work, as he ranks in the top four percent of Championship right-wingers for interceptions and recoveries.

With Toure out for months, the last thing Clement needs is for another of his most potent forwards sidelined, although it is too early to say how serious Brooks' injury is.
