Anthony Musaba was one of the plethora of players who left Sheffield Wednesday last summer, and he's set to return to the EFL with Norwich City
Sheffield Wednesday are looking ahead in their new era under David Storch and the Arise ownership, but the neglect from former owner Dejphon Chansiri is still lingering in parts.
Over £8 million has been spent in the last three months renovating Hillsborough, bringing it up to scratch and having it more in line with other, more modern stadiums. The training ground has been given some much-needed upgrades, too, and a plethora of new players have been signed.
The Owls' senior squad was decimated this time last year. Contracts were allowed to run out, those still under contract saw them breached due to late wage payments from Chansiri, and players with any possible sell-on value were cashed in on.
One of whom, Anthony Musaba, is set to return to the EFL just one year later to sign on loan for Norwich City.

There were two key sales amongst all the exodus at Hillsborough this time last year. One was Djedi Gassama, who left for Rangers, but before then, Musaba left for Turkish outfit Samsunspor.
It's been a rollercoaster of a year for the 25-year-old. He didn't last long at his new club, due to some brilliant performances in both the Super Lig and the UEFA Conference League. He netted six and assisted four in 22 games in all competitions.
That piqued the interest of Turkish giants Fenerbahce in January, who activated a reported €6 million release clause to bring him in. He didn't make as much of an impact there, starting 10 of his 17 league appearances as Sari Kanaryalar finished second, three points behind rivals Galatasaray.

Just six months after arriving at Fenerbahce, Musaba looks to be on the move again, though, as Pete O'Rourke has reported that Norwich have agreed a loan deal for the 25-year-old - a move that will see him return to the EFL.
Philippe Clement has been forced into heading into the wideman market this summer, following the potential season-ending ACL injury to Canadian winger Ali Ahmed, and Musaba looks to be the answer.
And while whoever replaces Ahmed, who netted four and assisted three in the second half of last season after arriving in January from Vancouver Whitecaps, would have big shoes to fill, there's every possibility that Musaba could do just that, and he has the backing of the Canaries fans to do so.
Before he left Hillsborough, the 25-year-old was a great wide option for Danny Rohl over the two years he spent in South Yorkshire, registering 10 goals and 11 assists in 72 second-tier outings.
And after picking up 15 goal contributions last season in Turkey, he'll easily be able to maintain the level required for Norwich to challenge for promotion in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday finished 12th in the Championship a couple of years ago with a squad that had plenty of talent in it and a good manager at the helm, too. Unfortunately, they also had an owner who had no real interest in helping take the club to the next level.
While the Owls are in a much better place now, last year they had to sit back as they were beaten routinely with ageing veterans and inexperienced youngsters in their side while players from that 2024/25 squad enjoyed success elsewhere.
How well do you think Sheffield Wednesday could have done last season if Dejphon Chansiri sold up and the majority of the playing personnel remained? Let us know in the comments.
Josh Windass enjoyed a career year battling for promotion with Wrexham, Gassama had a solid first season at Rangers and, to a lesser extent, Michael Smith and Pol Valentin were up there in the first half of the season at Preston North End.
Then, following the January transfer window with the club in administration, they had to watch talented youngster Bailey Cadamarteri leave, and club legend Barry Bannan left, too, something that not many expected to happen - both joined play-off-calibre sides.
So far this summer, Svante Ingelsson has moved on, as has exciting young goalkeeper Pierce Charles, with the latter part of a QPR squad filled with optimism for the season ahead, too.

Now, it looks like Musaba will be the next ex-Wednesday player from that 2024/25 campaign to continue his career in the Championship, and if he succeeds with Norwich, he'll become another cause for transfer envy due to the neglect in the final months of the Chansiri reign.
In another timeline, all these players who have gone on to play for play-off-chasing sides or ambitious European clubs, even Danny Rohl, who is now with RB Salzburg, could have been chasing the play-offs with Sheffield Wednesday.
Instead, the Owls are currently in the midst of their third League One campaign in six seasons.
And while joy and excitement are surrounding Wednesday again this season, especially after two wins in two to open the campaign, there'll always be some 'what ifs' surrounding what could have happened if Chansiri had sold up before a mass exodus began last summer.
