‘Not even a foul’ – Las Palmas boss García Pimienta fumes over decisive red card vs Sevilla | OneFootball

Las Palmas head coach Francisco Javier García Pimienta has this evening revealed his frustration with the officiating on show in the club’s latest outing.

García Pimienta guided his side back into action a short time ago, in a La Liga meeting with Sevilla in Gran Canaria.

When all was said and done, Las Palmas were condemned to the wrong side of a 2-0 result, owing to goals on the part of Youssef En-Nesyri and Dodi Lukebakio.

The task facing Los Amarillos, though, was always likely to be an uphill one, after they were reduced to ten men inside the opening six minutes on Sunday.

After being called to the VAR monitor to look back over a challenge on the part of Saúl Coco which was originally punished by way of a yellow card, referee Alejandro Muniz overturned his decision, to instead produce a straight red.

And, as alluded to above, one individual who was left utterly bemused by as much comes in the form of Las Palmas boss García Pimienta.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at the Estadio Gran Canaria this evening, the Spanish tactician went as far as to reveal his take that Coco’s challenge was not even worthy of a free-kick.

“It’s not even a foul and it’s a play that affects a lot,” García Pimienta began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “In addition, there were many small details during the game that always fell on the opposing side, but the most conclusive thing is that you are left with one less player so soon. The referee told me It’s a clear chance to score, but for me, it’s not even a foul, because Gudelj leaves his foot and Coco tries to move away.”
