The midfielder, like the club, currently has a very uncertain future.
Will Collar has revealed that, despite some talks with the club, he is yet to receive an offer from Stockport County, who he would "love to stay" with beyond the end of this season.
Every single person associated with the Hatters is coming up to a very crucial point in the club's history: a chance to complete back-to-back promotions, taking them from League Two to the Championship in two seasons.
If Stockport get past Leyton Orient in the semi-finals and beat the winners of the tie between Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley, Dave Challinor's side would get to celebrate a third promotion in four seasons. The one time they haven't won promotion in the past three terms, they lost out in the League Two play-off final on penalties.
As much as completing such an astonishing accomplishment will be at the forefront of the minds of the manager and his players, some of his staff will have other things - namely their contract situations - on their minds.
Collar, 27, is one of those players who have an uncertain future ahead of him, much like Stockport. The midfielder has admitted that there is an added pressure on footballers at this time of the year when they don't know where they are going to be working next season.
He has been a hugely important player for the club this season, starting 40 of their 46 League One matches, but, just weeks before his deal is set to expire, he isn't sure whether the club want him back at Edgeley Park next season.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: "It's a stressful time for many players who are out of contract. I'm not sure fans necessarily see that side of it and can appreciate what lads have to go through at this time of the season.
"I am expecting a newborn at the end of August so I can't plan anything for that because I don't have a clue where I'm going to be in the country, or if I'm going to be in another country.
"I think there's been some sort of discussion (over a new deal) but I've not had any offers or anything.
"I would love to stay at County, but it's a funny old game football, isn't it?
"I suppose I've just go to focus on, regardless of me and my situation, it's only going to be better for me and the team if we get promoted, so I've just got to focus on that really."
The play-offs throw the summer plans of every team up in the air. You don't know exactly when your season will finish, when you can plan your holidays for and, for many players, where you're going to be applying your trade until much later than most of your counterparts.
Stockport will either be a second or third tier outfit next season, that much they do know. Regardless of the outcome of their post-season exploits, they should want to keep Collar.
They know for certain that he is good enough to play a huge role for a promotion-pushing League One club and, even if they do secure promotion, he should be able to be a useful squad player in the Championship, at the very least.
He wants to stay, they should want him to stay: this should be an easy deal to broker.
