‘Not in our favour’: Alex Neil angry over West Brom Friday trip and schedule

Millwall boss Alex Neil has criticised the run-in before Friday’s visit to West Brom, arguing the scheduling is not in his side’s favour.
“That’s been a frustration of mine. I’ve voiced my opinion on it. In the next four games, we play before the teams immediately next to us in the league, so they know what our result was, which I don’t think is helpful for anybody. Certainly not helpful for us. The fact that they’ve brought our other game forward onto the Friday means we get one less day’s rest. Again, we need to travel twice in one week, and we’re away twice. It’s certainly not been in our favour, let’s put it that way.” He told the Southwark Press.
Millwall lost 2-1 at home to Norwich City on Bank Holiday Monday, and now head to The Hawthorns on Friday night.
It is the first of three evening kick-offs in their final five matches, and they have no remaining 3pm fixtures.
Back-to-back away games at Stoke and Leicester also await. Earlier this season Albion’s former boss Ryan Mason frequently criticised EFL congestion affecting long midweek trips.
